Fireplace Mantles

Fireplaces are many times the "crowning glory" to a great room or a family room in a timber frame. That being the case, if a client wants us to supply a mantle to go along with their frame, we have a few options available. The pictues below show examples ranging from a simple mantle attached to the stone, up to to a mantle built right into the frame itself.

The only time that the mantle should be pre-planned for is when it's embedded into the frame as shown in the last pictures. While this may take more planning and might add a small amount to the entire frame price, you can see that the aesthetic value it adds is priceless.

Under the Walnut heading, the last picture is the finished look of the second picture. While the cross bracing above the mantle would not normally be considered part of the mantle, it does greatly add to the look of the fireplace as a whole.
